LOUISA, Ky. — Lawrence Fiscal Court met in special session and set the tax rates for each of the taxing districts Tuesday. The rates are listed below. Interestingly this year the “compensating rate” which is designed to help counties keep an even keel, actually raised this year instead of being lower than the 2023 rate.

County Treasurer Josh Puckett said the budget was $767,000 last year of local property owners pockets. He said the same number is expected this year although, $90,000 of last year’s tax monies have not been collected.

The school is 58.90 now?? Ridiculous! That’s the one people need to be complaining about, it just keeps going higher and higher. It looks like all of them went down or stayed the same except for the county, extension office and the school. The county makes sense because Phil is broke but I guess the school is trying to make up for their failed nickel tax

School always go up. Just wait until you start paying for the private schools. Then you will see a BIG rate hike. Just keep voting for the MAGA Party.
