Lawrence County Indictments May 17, 2021

Commonwealth V. Lori Hall

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before April 4th, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Lori Hall committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.
  2. The above named defendant committed the offense of False Statement to Misrepresent/ Receive Benefits by knowingly and unlawfully being in physical possession of an EBT card registered and assigned to another individual, namely Lacy Hall, accompanying a receipt showing use of the card by another other than the one the card was administered to.

Bail was set at $5,000.

Commonwealth V. Hunter Hale

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before April 15th, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Hunter Hale committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in the possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.
  2. The above named defendant committed the violation of Failure to Signal by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle upon a Kentucky roadway without using the proper and/or required signals as defined in KRS: 189.380.

Bail was set at $5,000.

Commonwealth V. James Bryant II

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before April 30th, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. James Bryant II committed the offense of Fleeing/Evading in the First (1st) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully disregarding signals and commands to stop given by Deputy Chase Kirk with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department with the intent to flee, avoid or elude his arrest.
  2. The above named defendant acting alone or in complicity with [REDACTED] committed the violation of Criminal Mischief in the Third degree by knowingly and unlawfully damaging or destroying property owned by Jocelin Pickard of Louisa, Ky.
  3. That the defendant, having been charged in the instant indictment with the above stated felony count (s), is now being charged as a Persistent Felony Offender, in the Second (2nd) Degree for the reason that the Defendant, now more than twenty-one years of age, was previously convicted of a prior felony when he/she was at least eighteen years of age, which sentence imposed a term of imprisonment of one year or more, and that the offender either: (a) completed service of the sentence the previous felony offense within five (5) years of the date of commission of the instant offense; or (b) was on some form of legal release, or discharged from legal release, within five years of commission of the instant offense; or (c) was in custody or escaped from custody of said previous felony at the time of the commission of instant offense.

Bail was set at $10,000.

Commonwealth V. Robert Chafin

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before March 20th, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Robert Chafin committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Controlled Substance, Heroin.
  2. Robert Chafin committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.
  3. The above named defendant committed the offense of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs Frist (1st) Offense Within Five (5) Years by operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or other substances that impair a driver’s ability to operate that motor vehicle.

Bail was set at $5,000.

Commonwealth V. Benjamin Accord

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before March 7th, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Benjamin Accord committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.
  2. The above named defendant committed the violation of Failure To wear Seat Belts by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle upon a Kentucky roadway without proper safety belts in use as defined in KRS: 189.125

Bail was set at $5,000

Commonwealth V. John Louden JR

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before April 2nd, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. John Louden Jr. committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.
  2. The above named defendant committed the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of an altered straw containing chemical residue.

Bail was set at $5,000.

Commonwealth V. James D. Moore

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before April 23rd, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. James D. Moore committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.

Bail was set at $5,000.

Commonwealth V. Lowell Justin Maynard

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before April 5th, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Lowell Justin Maynard committed the offense of Receiving Stolen Property Under $10,000 by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a 2000 Yamaha motorcycle VStar make/model, stolen from Bobbi Hayes of Louisa, KY, with a value of $1,000.

Bail was set at $5,000.

Commonwealth V. Tracy Moore

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before November 8th, 2019 through April 5th, 2020 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Tracy Moore committed the offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking over $500.00 by knowingly and unlawfully taking timber, located on land owned by Lyndella Blevins of Lawrence County, KY, with a value of $6,147.

Bail was set at $5,000.

 

 

 

Commonwealth V. Andrew J. Roxby

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before February 26th, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Andrew J. Roxby committed the offense of Reckless Homicide by operating his motor vehicle in reckless manner which resulted in a motor vehicle collision with, and the death of, Gregory Arrington.

Bail was set at $5,000.

Commonwealth V. David Ferguson

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before April 3rd, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. David Ferguson committed the offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree < 2 grams by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance with the intent to traffic in that controlled substance or by trafficking in a controlled, namely approximately 25.00 grams of Methamphetamine and $200.00 in cash monies.
  2. That the defendant, having been charged in the instant indictment with the above stated felony count (s), is now being charged as a Persistent Felony Offender, in the Second (2nd) Degree for the reason that the Defendant, now more than twenty-one years of age, was previously convicted of a prior felony when he/she was at least eighteen years of age, which sentence imposed a term of imprisonment of one year or more, and that the offender either: (a) completed service of the sentence the previous felony offense within five (5) years of the date of commission of the instant offense; or (b) was on some form of legal release, or discharged from legal release, within five years of commission of the instant offense; or (c) was in custody or escaped from custody of said previous felony at the time of the commission of instant offense.
  3. The above named defendant committed the offense of Receiving Stolen Property Under $10,000 by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of multiple items stolen from Mr. Bobby Williams of Lawrence County, KY, with a value exceeding $500.00.

Bail was set at $15,000.

Commonwealth V. Stella Osborne

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before February 26th, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Stella Osborne committed the offense of Possession of Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.
  2. The above named defendant committed the offense of Tampering With Physical Evidence by knowingly and unlawfully destroying, removing, altering or concealing physical evidence that he believed would be used against him in an official proceeding.
  3. The above named defendant committed the offense of Use/Possession Drug Paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of two glass pipes.
  4. That the defendant, having been charged in the instant indictment with the above stated felony count (s), is now being charged as a Persistent Felony Offender, in the Second (2nd) Degree for the reason that the Defendant, now more than twenty-one years of age, was previously convicted of two prior felonies when he/she was at least eighteen years of age, which sentence imposed a term of imprisonment of one year or more, and that the offender either: (a) completed service of the sentence the previous felony offense within five (5) years of the date of commission of the instant offense; or (b) was on some form of legal release, or discharged from legal release, within five years of commission of the instant offense; or (c) was in custody or escaped from custody of said previous felony at the time of the commission of instant offense.

Bail was set at $15,000.

Commonwealth V. Jeffrey Allen Harper

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before April 23rd, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Jeffrey Allen Harper committed the offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree > than 2 grams by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance with the intent to traffic in that controlled substance or by trafficking in a controlled, namely approximately 6.5 grams of Methamphetamine, $596.30 in cash monies, small scoop spoons, various pipes, and digital scales.

Bail was set at $10,000.

Commonwealth V. Ricky Jones

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before February 14th, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Ricky Jones acting alone or in complicity with Ramona Mills committed the offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking Over $500.00 by knowingly and unlawfully taking a 2006 Chevrolet C/K 2500 pick up truck, owned by B and J’s Auto Sales of Lawrence County, KY, with a value of $6,500.

Bail was set at $5,000.

Commonwealth V. Ramona Mills

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before February 14th, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Ramona Mills acting alone or in complicity with Ricky Jones committed the offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking Over $500.00 by knowingly and unlawfully taking a 2006 Chevrolet C/K 2500 pickup truck, owned by B and J’s Auto Sales of Lawrence County, KY, with a value of $6,500.
  2. That the defendant, having been charged in the instant indictment with the above stated felony count (s), is now being charged as a Persistent Felony Offender, in the Second (2nd) Degree for the reason that the Defendant, now more than twenty-one years of age, was previously convicted of two prior felonies when he/she was at least eighteen years of age, which sentence imposed a term of imprisonment of one year or more, and that the offender either: (a) completed service of the sentence the previous felony offense within five (5) years of the date of commission of the instant offense; or (b) was on some form of legal release, or discharged from legal release, within five years of commission of the instant offense; or (c) was in custody or escaped from custody of said previous felony at the time of the commission of instant offense.

Bail was set at $15,000.

Commonwealth V. Rick Vance

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before January 1st, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Rick Vance committed the offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree < than 2 grams by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance with the intent to traffic in that controlled substance or by trafficking in a controlled, namely approximately 3.5 grams of Methamphetamine, and $602.00 in cash monies.
  2. The above named defendant committed the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a set of scales and baggies.

Bail was set at $5,000.

Commonwealth V. Latisha Johnson

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before April 27th, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Latisha Johnson committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree  by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Controlled Substance, Heroin.
  2. The above named defendant committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.
  3. The above named defendant committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Controlled Substance, LSD.

Bail was set at $15,000.

Commonwealth V. Gregory Scott

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before March 23rd, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Gregory Scott acting alone or in complicity with Winfred Scott committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.
  2. The above named defendant acting alone or in complicity with Winfred Scott committed the violation of Criminal Mischief in the Third degree by knowingly and unlawfully damaging or destroying property owned by [REDACTED].

Bail was set at $5,000.

The Grand Jury Charges: That on or before March 23rd, 2021 in Lawrence County Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Winfred Scott acting alone or in complicity with Gregory Scott committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First (1st) Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.
  2. The above named defendant acting alone or in complicity with Gregory Scott committed the violation of Criminal Mischief in the Third degree by knowingly and unlawfully damaging or destroying property owned by [REDACTED].

Bail was set at $5,000.
