LAWRENCE COUNTY INDICTMENTS

April 22, 2021

 

COMMONWEALTH V. HOPE GRISSOM

The Grand Jury charges: That on or before February 20, 2020, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Hope Grissom committed the offense of Importing Heroin by knowingly and unlawfully transported approximately 1.3 grams of heroin into the Commonwealth by any means with the intent to sell or distribute the heroin.
  2. Hope Grissom committed the offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the 1st degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, namely 2.8 grams of methamphetamine, with the intent to traffic in that controlled substance or by trafficking in a controlled substance, namely approximately 2.8 grams of methamphetamine.
  3. Hope Grissom committed the offense of Tampering with Physical Evidence by knowingly and unlawfully destroying, removing, altering or concealing physical evidence that he believed would be used against him in an official proceeding.
  4. The above-named defendant committed the Violation of Rear License Plate not Illuminated by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle on a Kentucky roadway without a properly illuminated license plate as defined in KRS: 189.170.

COMMONWEALTH V. JOSEPH ADKINS

The Grand Jury charges: That on or before March 2, 2021, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Joseph Adkins committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st degree, by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

COMMONWEALTH V. NICHOLAS COPLEY

The Grand Jury charges: That on or before January 22, 2021, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Nicholas Copley committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.
  2. The above-named defendant committed the violation of Rear License Plate not Illuminated by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle on a Kentucky roadway without a properly illuminated license plate as defined in KRS: 189.170.

COMMONWEALTH V. LAURA SPEAKMAN

The Grand Jury charges:   That on or before January 10, 2021, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Laura Speakman committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

COMMONWEALTH V. HUNTER HALE

The Grand Jury charges:   That on or before January 22, 2021, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Hunter Hale committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

COMMONWEALTH V. IKE MONTGOMERY

The Grand Jury charges:   That on or before January 24, 2021, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Ike Montgomery committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.
  2. The above-named defendant committed the violation of failure to or improper signal by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle upon a Kentucky roadway and failing to properly signal as defined in KRS: 189.380.

COMMONWEALTH V. SEAN ANTIS

The Grand Jury charges:   That on or before February 23, 2021, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Sean Antis committed the offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the 1st degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of Methamphetamine, a controlled substance, digital scales, a ledger, small quantity of baggies and $363.00 in cash money, with the intent to traffic in that Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.

COMMONWEALTH V. JAMES KEATON

The Grand Jury charges:   That on or before February 20, 2021, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. James Keaton committed the offense of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the influence of Alcohol/Drugs 4th Offense Within 10 Years by operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or other substances that impair a driver’s ability to operate that motor vehicle and refusing consent for testing, while having 3 previous convictions of KRS: 189A.010: (COMMONWEALTH V. JAMES KEATON, CARTER DISTRICT COURT 18-T-02220, CARTER CIRCUIT COURT 16-CR-00200, JOHNSON DISTRICT COURT 12-T-01199 AND LAWRENCE DISTRICT COURT 11-T-00323.)
  2. The above-named defendant committed the offense of failure to wear seatbelts by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle upon a Kentucky roadway without proper safety belts in use as defined in KRS: 189.125.

COMMONWEALTH V. RANDY WRIGHT

The Grand Jury charges:   That on or before January 2, 2021, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Randy Wright committed the offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of 2.6grams of Methamphetamine, a controlled substance, digital scales, baggies and $70.00 in cash money, with the intent to traffic in that controlled substance, Methamphetamine, or by trafficking in that controlled substance, Methamphetamine.

COMMONWEALTH V. JEFFREY DAVID CLARK

The Grand Jury charges:   That on or before March 5, 2021, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Jeffrey David Clark acting in complicity with Bobby May committed the offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of 8.50 grams of Methamphetamine, a controlled substance, digital scales, baggies and $900.00 cash money, with the intent to traffic in that Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine, or by trafficking in that Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.

COMMONWEALTH V. BOBBY MAY

The Grand Jury charges:   That on or before March 5, 2021, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Bobby May acting in complicity with Jeffrey David Clark committed the offense of Trafficking ion a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of 8.50 grams of Methamphetamine, a controlled substance, digital scales, baggies and $900.00 cash money, with the intent to traffic in that Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine, or by trafficking in that Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.

COMMONWEALTH V. DOUGLAS WRIGHT

The Grand Jury charges:   That on or before February 23, 2021, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

Douglas Wright committed the offense of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs 4th Offense Within 10 Years by operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or other substances that impair a driver’s ability to operate that motor vehicle and refusing testing, while having 3 previous convictions of KRS: 189A.010: (The Grand Jury charges:   That on or before March 5, 2021, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant: (COMMONWEALTH V. DOUGLAS WRIGHT, MAGOFFIN DISTRICT COURT 15-T-99174, 16-T-00615 AND 16-M-00057.)

COMMONWEALTH V. MAYNARD HAY

The Grand Jury charges:   That on or before March 9, 2021, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Maynard Hay committed the offense of Fleeing/Evading in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully disregarding signals and commands to stop given by officer Michael Housinger with the Louisa Police Department and Deputy Chase Kirk with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department with the intent to flee, avoid, or elude his arrest.
  2. The above-named defendant committed the offense of wanton endangerment in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully engaging in conduct which creates substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to another person, namely Officer Michael Housinger with the Louisa Police Department.

COMMONWELATH V. EDDIE KENNEDY

The Grand Jury charges:   That on or before July 2, 2020, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Eddie Kennedy, committed the offense of Receiving Stolen Property, Firearm by knowingly and unlawfully being in physical possession of a Rossi Brand 22 caliber rifle stolen from Helen Church of Webbville, Kentucky.
