Lawrence County KY Health Department

  ·

We would like to pay tribute to Dr. Lloyd Browning who passed away this week. Dr. Browning was a devoted member of the Lawrence County Board of Health serving as Chairman for more than two decades. He also served as Medical Director for the health department.

This year I celebrated my tenth year with the health department. When I left KDMC, I didn’t think it possible to find another team as special as the one I worked with there. Dr. Browning took a chance on me, offering the greatest opportunity to join the team here and I am so thankful. It is a joy and a blessing to work here with this wonderful, caring team.

Many times, Dr. Browning would stop by to sign papers and just chat. He was always smiling. He taught me patience. He taught me to serve with a grateful heart. He taught me love of community. He taught me that people are your greatest resource, to put your employees first. If a program or service will benefit the community, find a way to make it happen. It is difficult to put into words what Dr. Browning meant to me. I am a better leader and person for his leadership, guidance, wisdom, and friendship.

We send our deepest sympathies to Marcella, Dr. Ben, and other family members and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Thank you for sharing your Dr. Browning with us.
