LAWRENCE CO. MAN GETS HOME CONFINEMENT ON 20 SEX CHARGES

Several cases were resolved in Circuit Court on Friday, February 23rd. They were mostly drug offenses, but Steven Prater who faced 20 plus years for Sexual Crimes, could possibly receive probation with home confinement.

Several warrants were issued on the indictments for February, and status hearings or pre-trial conferences were also held on this date.

Heather Adkins, 34 was present for a Motion For Diversion Completion, motion was Granted.

Alexis J. BoydAlexis Boyd, 24 was present on a Motion to Reduce Bond for Engaging in Organized Crime/ Criminal Syndicate. Motion was granted, defendant given a In Home Incarceration Bond.

 

 

 

 

 

James Stephen BurchetteJames Burchett, 39 was present on a Motion to Revoke Probation, hearing scheduled for 3/9/18

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jeffrey M. CopleyJeffrey Copley, 46 was arraigned on Complicity Trafficking In A Controlled Substance, 1st, Methamphetamine And Complicity Possession Of Marijuana.

Pre-trial set for 3/23/18

 

 

 

 

Matthew Diamond, 33 was on the docket to be sentenced for Flagrant Non Support, defendant was not present in a bench warrant to be issued.

 

 

 

 

Shawn A. FitzpatrickShawn Fitzpatrick, 23 was present on a Motion To Reduce Bond on Engaging in Organized Crime/ Criminal Syndicate and Persistent Felony Offender.

The motion was denied.

 

 

 

 

 

Bradley A. FraleyBradley Fraley, 47 was arraigned on Complicity Trafficking In A Controlled Substance, 1st degree, methamphetamine and Complicity Possession of Marijuana.

Pre-trial set for 3/23/18.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Paul S. HackneyPaul Timothy Shane Hackney, 36 was present on a service of bench warrant for Engaging In Organized Crime/Criminal Syndicate.

Hearing set for 3/9/18.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Donald K. HarrisDonald Harris, 30 pled guilty to 2 separate cases per offer by the Commonwealth the defendant will get 3 years and 270 days of in Home incarceration probated over 5 years on Complicity Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st degree, consecutive to other case.

Separate Case: The defendant pled guilty and was sentenced to 10 years/probation supervised for 5 years and 270 of in Home incarceration, consecutive to other case.

Final sentencing to be held on 3/23/18. Bond changed to in home incarceration until final sentencing.

 

 

 

 

 

David Bryan JohnsonDavid Brian Johnson, 40 was arraigned on Criminal Mischief, 1st Degree, Attempted Escape 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree. Defendant remains incarcerated and an order to be submitted about medical issues.

Pre-trial set for 3/23/18.
On a separate case: The defendant was arraigned on Assault 3rd degree/Police/Probation Officer, Disorderly Conduct, Falsely Reporting An Incident, And Persistent Felony Offender, 1st degree.

Pretrial set for 3/23/18.

 

 

 

 

Travis E. LayTravis Lay, 22 pled guilty and per offer by the Commonwealth will be sentenced to 1 year for Possession of a Controlled Substance, 2nd or greater offense, 30 days for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs, 30 days for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, with failure to wear seatbelt and No Operators License Dismissed.

Final sentencing to be held on 3/23/18.

Separate Case: Defendant also pled guilty and took a plea of 1 year for Possession of a Controlled Substance, 2nd or greater offense, 30 days for Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs and Failure to Wear Seatbelt, Failure to Maintain Insurance and No Operators License being dismissed. Both cases to run concurrent, but consecutive to next case.

Separate Case: Per offer by the Commonwealth the defendant took 18 months on Possession Of A Controlled Substance 2nd Or Greater Offense, Escape, 2nd Degree, 60 Days For Operating On Suspended/Revoked License, 60 days for Illegal Possession of Legend Drug and 60 days for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

 

 

 

 

 

Jessica McKinneyJessica McKinney, 36 was arraigned on 1st degree Possession of Cocaine, 1st offense and Use/Possess Drug Paraphernalia, 1st offense. Bond was changed to in Home Incarceration.

Pretrial to be held on 3/23/18.

 

 

 

 

 

STEVE MEEKS Steve Meeks, 62 was arraigned on Attempted Robbery, 1st Degree, Fleeing Or Evading Police, 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree, Tampering With Physical Evidence, Operating A Motor Vehicle Under The Influence Of Alcohol/Drugs, And Persistent Felony Offender 1st degree.

Bond to remain at $10,000 and pre-trial set for 3/23/18.

 

 

 

 

 

Gary Cochran MillsGary Cochran Mills, 51 was present in court on a motion for medical treatment and a motion for jail time credit.

Docket does not reflect the outcome of the motion.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Timothy NapierTimothy Brian Napier, 50 was on the docket for a Motion to Revoke Probation, The defendant was not present in a bench warrant to be issued.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Charles D. PerkinsCharles Perkins, 26 was on the docket for a status hearing on termination from drug court for the charges of 2 counts of engaging in organized crime/criminal syndicate. The defendant was not present in a bench warrant to be issued.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lillian N. PerryLillian Perry, 38 pled guilty to an amended charge per Commonwealth’s offer, they amended Fraudulent Use of ID Card for Electronic Code for Benefits to a misdemeanor charge, sentenced to 60 days and other conditions. Time already served.

Separate Case: pled guilty to the same charge and received the same sentence.

 

 

 

 

 

Steven PraterSteven Prater, 49 pled guilty to several sexual charges:

Rape 2nd degree and Sodomy 2nd degree was dismissed.

The defendant received 3 years for each count of 5 counts of Rape, 3rd degree, 3 years for each count of 5 counts of Sodomy, 3rd degree, The defendant received 3 years for each of 10 counts of Sexual Abuse, 1st degree.

The sentence was probated over 5 years with 180 days of Home Incarceration.

 

 

 

 

 

Ronald RatliffRonald Ratliff, 50 was present on a motion for Diversion Completion, to be heard on 3/23/18.
