4. COMMUNICATION
4.A. Superintendent’s Update

4.A.1. Dr. Fletcher is co-chairing a committee for KASA which involves work on lobbying for funding for staff raises.
4.A.2. Dr. Fletcher served on the Accountability Standards Setting Committee in Frankfort on September 13-15.

4.A.3. Dr. Fletcher is chairing the Appalachian Regional Advisory Committee, representing Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia; the Committee will be drafting a report to the USDOE on education needs of our area.
4.A.4. Our administration has utilized a new communication process with parents and has implemented a bullying discipline matrix as a result of our anti-bullying committee work.
4.A.5. The Board needs to set dates for a ground-breaking ceremony for the LAVEC construction project and for a working budget session.

4.A.6. Central Office staff have been collaborating on proposed changes to the classified pay scale and have a proposal for the food service team.
4.A.7. The Kentucky Board of Education selected Robin Kinney to serve as the interim education commissioner, effective September 30.
