AGENDA 

1. CALL TO ORDER

3.A. BES Phonics Instruction: Primary Teachers: Sarah Arrington, Ariel Murray, Keily Musick, Shelia Gollihue

3.B. BES Art Program: VPA Teacher Stacy Reynolds

4. COMMUNICATION 

4.A. Superintendent’s Update 

4.A.1. The General Assembly overrode Governor’s veto:  HB9 (charter schools) passed. 

4.A.2. SB1 (CRT, principal selection, etc.), HB678 (school facilities), and others were adopted, while HB66 (codify full-day kindergarten) was not. 

4.A.3. HB1 (budget bill) included funding for SEEK, transportation, and full-day kindergarten. 

4.A.4.  Mrs. Katie Webb continues to lead our Local Leaders of Learning work, with our second meeting coming soon. 

4.A.5. State testing may begin on May 3rd. 

4.A.6. The textbook selection process is coming to a close. 

4.A.7. The Lawrence County softball and baseball teams competed in the 2A Sectional Championship on Friday night. 

4.A.8. JROTC will host its Military Ball on April 23 at the Country Music Highway Museum 

4.A.9. Our high school graduation ceremony is tentatively set to be held outside again this year.
