FROM 12:01 A.M. MARCH 27, 2021; THRU TO 11:59 P.M. APRIL 18, 2021 (23 DAYS), AT LEAST 190 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED FROM JOHNSON, LAWRENCE, MAGOFFIN, & MARTIN COUNTIES COMBINED, AND WERE BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE.
OUT OF THOSE 190 ARRESTS, 40 ARRESTS WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY.

SEPARATELY, 9 LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENT WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN ANOTHER KENTUCKY COUNTY JURISDICTIONS (4 IN JOHNSON COUNTY, 3 IN MARTIN COUNTY, AND 2 IN CARTER COUNTY [1 OF WHOM WAS ORIGINALLY ARRESTED IN BOYD COUNTY)].

PREVIOUSLY, FROM 12:01 A.M. MARCH 10, 2021; THRU TO 11:59 P.M. MARCH 26, 2021 (17 DAYS), AT LEAST 120 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED FROM JOHNSON, LAWRENCE, MAGOFFIN, & MARTIN COUNTIES COMBINED,& WERE BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE. OUT OF THOSE 120 ARRESTS, 25 ARRESTS WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY.
SEPARATELY, 7 LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENT WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN ANOTHER KENTUCKY COUNTY JURISDICTIONS (3 IN JOHNSON COUNTY, 2 IN ROWAN COUNTY [1 OF WHOM WHICH WAS ARRESTED IN ELLIOTT COUNTY], 1 IN PIKE COUNTY, AND 1 IN CASEY COUNTY KENTUCKY).

THE NUMBER OF INMATES THAT WERE BEING HOUSED AT THE BSRDC IN PAINTSVILLE AS OF 11:59 P.M., SUNDAY, APRIL 18, 2021, WAS 174.

HERE ARE THE LATEST FORTY ARRESTS IN LAWRENCE COUNTY, ALONG WITH THE NINE ARRESTED IN NEIGHBORING KENTUCKY COUNTIES, ARE AS THE FOLLOWING:

Randel Ellis Boggs, 22, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on March 27, 2021, at 3:27 P.M., by patrolman officer Teddy B. Newsome, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • FAILURE TO APPEAR (3 SEPARATE CHARGE COUNTS), • IMPERSONATING A PEACE OFFICER, • ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) NO VISIBLE INJURY.

Saul Carcamo, 44, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on March 28, 2021, at 2:04 A.M.,by the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, & was charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/SUBSTANCE (189A.010(1E) – 1ST OFFENSE, • IMPROPERLY ON LEFT SIDE OF ROAD, • FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD, • OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE.

Jimmy D. Maynard, 41, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on March 29, 2021, at 1:21 A.M., by deputy Dwayne Bowen, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, & was charged with: • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.

Erik Scott Williams, 42, of Charleston, West Virginia; was arrested on March 29, 2021, at 2:24 A.M., by a trooper of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • SPEEDING 26 MPH OR > SPEED LIMIT, • FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELTS, • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL .08 (189A.010(1A) – 1ST OFFENSE.

Helen Jude, 48, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on April 1, 2021, at 9:46 P.M., by the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, & was charged with: • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.

Phyllis Harless, 67, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on April 1, 2021, at 10:50 P.M.,by deputy Daniel Castle, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, & was charged with: • PUBLIC INTOXICATION-CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL), • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA -BUY/POSSESS.

Sandra K. Hatfield, 40, of Webbville,Kentucky; was arrested on April 1, 2021, at 10:54 P.M.,by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, & was charged with: • FAILURE TO APPEAR, • SERVING PAROLE VIOLATION WARRANT.

David Harmon, 60, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on April 1, 2021, at 10:54 P.M.,by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department,& was charged with, via a grand jury indictment: • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE- (< 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE), • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 3RD DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED, • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.

    Geesh what’s up with folks even in their 50s and meth? This drug has been such a scourge on our community and has ruined so many lives.
    I think the meth epidemic is turning out to be worse than the opioid epidemic.

      I think the reason the opioid epidemic has slowed down is the doctors aren’t giving them out so they turn to another drug
