LAWRENCE COUNTY ARREST LIST – JUNE 15-23, 2019

In the past 8 & 1/2 period of 12:30 A.M. June 15,2019, thru to 1:35 P.M. June 23, 2019; there were at least 90 individuals who were arrested and were brought to be lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of those 90, 12, of those arrested were from Lawrence County.

Another 2 Lawrence County residents were arrested in neighboring and other Ky. counties ( 1 in Boyd County, 1 in Johnson County, (and then was later sent to Pike County). Also a Fort Gay resident was arrested in Martin County, Ky.

That is in comparison to the previous over past 8 day period of 12:42 A.M. June 7, 2019, thru to 12:30 A.M. June 15, 2019; there were at least 57 individuals who were arrested & were brought to be lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of those 57, 12, of those arrested were from Lawrence County. Another 3 Lawrence County residents were arrested in neighboring and other Ky. counties ( 1 in Boyd County, 1 in Carter County, and 1 in Breathitt County, Ky.) Also a Fort Gay resident was arrested in Johnson County, Ky.

In the past couple of days, there was surge in the number of inmates that were housed at given time at Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Painstville; due to a large than normal of “weekenders”, as well those brought in on grand jury indictments, as numbers fluctuated, from low 240’s Friday morning, June 21, to as high as the mid 260’s Friday night, back down to the low 250’s Saturday morning, back up to nearly 260 Saturday night, and then back down again to the low 250’s on Sunday

There were 253 inmates lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center as of 4:00 P.M., Sunday, June 23. The maximum designated number of inmates the BSRDC was built to hold is 225.

The names and criminal charges of the latest 12 Lawrence County arrests, as well as the 2 Lawrence County residents who were arrested in other Kentucky counties jurisdictions, and the Fort Gay resident arrested, are the following:

 

Justin W. Kirk, 23, of Lowmansville, Kentucky; was arrested on June 16, 2019, at 2:55 A.M., by a trooper of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with:

• SPEEDING 19 MPH OVER LIMIT,

• FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELTS,

• OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE.

 

Gary Fyffe, 54, of Blaine, Kentucky; was arrested on June 17, 2019, at 12:04 A.M., by Sheriff Chuck Jackson, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with, via a grand jury indictment:

• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE),

• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.

 

Larry Bartley, 25, of Louisville, Kentucky; was arrested on June 17, 2019, at 11:56 P.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:

• POSSESSION OF HANDGUN BY CONVICTED FELON,

• CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON,

• DEFACING A FIREARM,

• PUBLIC INTOXICATION-CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL).

Larry Bartley was subsequently arrested again in Johnson County, on June 20, 2019, at 12:25 P.M., by officer Shane Cantrell of the Paintsville Police Department, and was charged with:

• THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION ALL OTHERS UNDER/$500,

• SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT. Larry Bartley remains lodged in the BSRDC.

Carl Marcum, 30, of Louisa, was arrested on June 18, 2019, at 9:51 P.M., by patrolman officer Teddy Newsome, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with, via a grand jury indictment:

• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE),

• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 2ND DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED.

 

Sherry Castle, 30, of Louisa, was arrested on June 18, 2019, at 7:33 .M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with, via a grand jury indictment:

• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 2ND DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED,

• TRAFFICKING IN A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, FIRST OFFENSE (< 10. DOSAGE UNITS – DRUG UNSPECIFIED SCHEDULE 1 & 2).

Karen R. Roberts, 56, of Louisa, was arrested on June 20, 2019, at 1:22 P.M., by officer Billy Slone, of the Kentucky Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole, and was charged with:

• PROBATION VIOLATION (FOR TECHNICAL VIOLATION).

 

Ryan Chad Hayes, 32, of Louisa, was arrested on June 20, 2019, at 8:47 P.M., by deputy Michael Housinger, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:

• THEFT BY DECEPTION-INCLUDE COLD CHECKS UNDER/$10,000.

 

Miranda Blevins, 21, of Paintsville, Kentucky; was arrested on June 21,2019, at 3:37 P.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:

• FAILURE TO APPEAR, CITATION FOR MISDEMEANOR.

Stevie R. Mundell, 25, of Louisa, self surrendered and was taken into custody, and was booked on June 14, at 6:00 P.M.,and June 21, 2019, at 5:03 P.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, to serve a guilty jail sentence plea:

• CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.

 

Anthony R. Chapman, 50, of Louisa, was arrested on June 21, 2019, at 7:58 P.M., by patrolman officer Julius Musick, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with:

• THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION ALL OTHERS $10,000 OR MORE BUT UNDER/$1,000,000,

• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (HEROIN),

• IMPORTING HEROIN.

Charles E. Mills, 33, of Louisa, formerly of Medina, Ohio; was arrested on June 18, 2019, at 9:51 P.M., by patrolman officer Hunter James, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with, via a grand jury indictment:

• BURGLARY, 1ST DEGREE.

 

Robert Stone, 19, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on June 23, 2019, at 5:24 A.M., by trooper Bradley Couch, of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with:

• OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE,

• RECKLESS DRIVING,

• FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELTS,

• NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT,

• FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD,

• ILLEGAL POSSESSION ALCOHOL IN DRY TERRITORY 1ST OFFENSE.

Treana M. Jennings, 37, of Louisa, self surrendered and was taken into custody in Johnson County and was booked on June 17, 2019, at 2:35 P.M., by a deputy of the Johnson County Sheriff Department, to serve a guilty jail sentence plea:

• CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.

Treana Jennings was then later transferred to and was taken into custody at the Pike County Detention Center, and was booked on June 18, 2019, at 12:01 P.M., by a deputy of the Pike County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:

• FAILURE TO APPEAR. Jenning’s bail was set by Pike County District Court Tommy May at $240.50 full cash only; for which shortly thereafter Treana Jennings posted her bail bond and was subsequently released from jail.

Michelle Lynn Boyce, 40, of Fort Gay,West Virginia; was arrested in Martin County,on June 18,2019, at 8:57 P.M., by a deputy of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:

• OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REV OPERATORS LICENSE,

• FAILURE OF NON-OWNER OPERATOR TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY 1ST OFFENSE.

 

Lowell Justin Maynard, 30, of Louisa, self surrendered and was taken into custody in Boyd County and was booked on June 21,2019, at 1:16 P.M.,by officer Kevin Williams, of the Ashland Police Department, to serve a guilty jail sentence plea:

• CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.
