FROM 12:00 A.M., AUGUST 1, THRU TO 11:59 P.M. AUGUST 12, 2021, (12 DAYS); AT LEAST 135 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED FROM JOHNSON, LAWRENCE, MAGOFFIN, AND MARTIN COUNTIES COMBINED,AND WERE BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION  CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE.

OUT OF THOSE 135 ARRESTS, 24 ARRESTS WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY.

 
SEPARATELY, 4 LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENTS WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN OTHER KENTUCKY COUNTY JURISDICTIONS (2 IN JOHNSON COUNTY, 1 IN PIKE COUNTY, AND 1 IN BOYD COUNTY).

 

PREVIOUSLY, FROM 12:00 A.M. JULY 14, THRU TO 11:59 P.M. JULY 31, 2021 (18 DAYS), AT LEAST 183 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED FROM JOHNSON, LAWRENCE, MAGOFFIN, AND MARTIN COUNTIES COMBINED,AND WERE BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION  CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE. OUT OF THOSE 183 ARRESTS, 35 ARRESTS WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY. SEPARATELY, 6 LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENTS WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN OTHER KENTUCKY JURISDICTIONS (4 IN JOHNSON COUNTY, AND 2 IN PIKE COUNTY).

 

HERE ARE THE LATEST TWENTY-FOUR ARRESTS IN LAWRENCE COUNTY, ALONG WITH THE FOUR (4) ARRESTED IN NEIGHBORING COUNTIES, ARE AS THE FOLLOWING:

 

 
Michael A. Wilks, 45, of Louisa,Kentucky; was arrested on August 2,2021,at 3:09 P.M., by trooper Shane Copley, of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE).
 
 
Richard A. Laney, 60,of Louisa,Kentucky; was arrested on August 3,2021,at 4:38 A.M., by patrolman officer Teddy B. Newsome, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • PROBATION VIOLATION (FOR FELONY OFFENSE) 
 
 
Jonathan C. Moore, 41, of Taylorsville, Kentucky; was arrested on August 3, 2021,at 1:14 P.M.,by Sheriff Chuck Jackson, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (COCAINE), • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY POSSESS, • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE SUBSTANCE (189A.010(1C) – 1ST OFFENSE, • CARELESS DRIVING.
 
Matthew Thompson, 58, of Fort Gay, West Virginia; was arrested on August 3,2021,at 4:26 P.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER, • DISORDERLY CONDUCT, 2ND DEGREE.
 
Tyler N. Workman, 25, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on August 3, 2021,at 11:46 P.M.,by the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT
 
 
Kenneth L. Fitch, 47, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested at the Lawrence County Judicial Center, on August 4, 2021, at 11:05 A.M., by court security officer Melody Salyers, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with, via a grand jury indictment: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE), • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.

 
Cynthia C. Broyles, 20, of Louisa,Kentucky; was taken into custody on August 5,2021, at 8:41 P.M., by deputy Joseph Osborne, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence: • CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.
 
 
Robert Wayne Chafin, 44, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on August 5, 2021, at 11:05 A.M., by deputy Joseph Osborrne, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with, via a grand jury indictment: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE), • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (HEROIN), • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL .08 (189A.010(1A) – 1ST OFFENSE,  Robert Wayne Chafin was also newly charged with: • FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE, • NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT, • FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELTS, • IMPROPER REGISTRATION PLATE.
 
Madison Lemaster, 22, of Clear Fork,West Virginia; was arrested on August 5, 2021,at 11:15 P.M.,by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • FAILURE TO APPEAR.
 
Melissa A. Bosler, 50,of Urbana,Ohio;was arrested on August 6,2021,at 12:38 A.M. by deputy Joseph Osborne, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, & was charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE SUBSTANCE (189A.010(1C) – 1ST OFFENSE, • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 3RD DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED, • POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA,•DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.

James E. Bryant, 50, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on August 6, 2021,at 12:30 A.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with via a grand jury indictment: • FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 1ST DEGREE (MOTOR VEHICLE, • CRIMINAL TRESPASSING-3RD DEGREE. • PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER II.

Melvin Garner Harmon Jr., 30, of Blaine, Kentucky; was arrested on August 7, 2021,at 7:55 P.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with via a grand jury indictment: •BURGLARY, 3RD DEGREE.
 

Tristan M. Dennison,22, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on August 6, 2021,at 12:30 A.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • ONE HEADLIGHT, • NO REGISTRATION PLATES, • IMPROPER REGISTRATION PLATE, • FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/ SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE, • FAILURE TO REGISTER TRANSFER OF MOTOR VEHICLE, • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL (189A.010(1B) – 1ST OFFENSE, • NO OPERATORS-MOPED LICENSE, • IMPROPER OR NO WINDSHIELD, • POSSESSION OF OPEN ALCOHOL BEVERAGE CONTAINER IN MOTOR VEHICLE PROHIBITED.

Kimbley Carter, 46, of Louisa, Knetucky; was arrested on August 9,2021,at 4:54 A.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2ND DEGREE.

Amber Ball, 33, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on August 10, 2021,at 9:30 P.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE, • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
 
 
George E. Moore, 22, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on August 6, 2021,at 12:30 A.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • NO REGISTRATION PLATES, • FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE, • FAILURE TO REGISTER TRANSFER OF MOTOR VEHICLE • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (189A.010(1D) – 1ST OFFENSE.
 
 
Wendy Sue Jude, 34, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested at the Lawrence County Judicial Center, on August 11, 2021, at 11:05 A.M., by court security officer Melody Salyers, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with, via two bench warrants: • FAILURE TO APPEAR (FROM BOYD COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT), and • ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) MINOR INJURY, • CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2ND DEGREE. Wendy Jude was also additionally charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALC/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 2ND OFFENSE, • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (DRUG UNSPECIFIED), • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 3RD DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED (2 SEPARATE CHARGES COUNTS).

Eddie H. Kennedy, 65, of Webbville,Kentucky;was arrested on August 11,2021,at 9:48 P.M., by trooper James Rowland, of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE), • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 3RD DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE-(>OR=20 BUT <120 D.U.), • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST OFFENSE (HEROIN) , • RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY (FIREARM) , • FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELTS, • FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD, • NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT.

Hansel R Wiley, 22, of Louisa,Kentucky; was arrested on August 12,2021,at 1:18 A.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 2ND DEGREE (ON FOOT).

Johnathan Lester Ratliff, 55, of Louisa,Kentucky; was arrested on August 12,2021,at 4:22 A.M., by deputy Everett Chase Kirk, and was charged with: • ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) MINOR INJURY, • DISORDERLY CONDUCT, 2ND DEGREE.
 
 
Brenda G. Graves, 59, of Louisa, Knetucky; was arrested on August 12, 2021, at 4:22 A.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, & was charged with: • ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) NO VISIBLE INJURY, • DISORDERLY CONDUCT, 2ND DEGREE.

Michael Layne Maynard, 40, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on August 12, 2021, at 8:34 A.M.,by Sheriff Chuck Jackson,& was charged with: • VIOLATION OF A KENTUCKY EPO/DVO.
 
Carrie S. Wages, 38,of Blaine,Knetucky; was arrested on August 12,2021,at 8:33 P.M., by patrolman officer Teddy, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: •
TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (< 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE), • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.
 

Lawrence J. Thompson, 50, of Louisa, Knetucky; was arrested on August 12, 2021, at 10:59 P.M., by patrolman officer Teddy, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • ALCOHOL INTOXICATION IN A PUBLIC PLACE (1ST & 2ND OFFENSE).

Hylton, 41, of Louisa,Kentucky; was arrested originally in Boyd County, by an officer of the Ashland Police Department, and then was transferred to Big Sandy Regional Detention in Paintsville,and was booked on August 2,2021, at 3:28 P.M., and was charged with: • FAILURE TO APPEAR, CITATION FOR MISDEMEANOR.
 
Christina Moore-Mills, 30, of Lowmansville, Kentucky; was arrested in Johnson County on August 7, 2021, at 6:18 A.M., by deputy Michael Scott, of the Johnson County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • PAROLE VIOLATION (FELONY OFFENSE)
 
 

Savanna Marie Ferguson-Kitchen, 33, of Blaine, Kentucky; was arrested in Johnson County on August 11, 2021, at 2:17 A.M., by the Johnson County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • FAILURE TO APPEAR.
