17 arrested in Lawrence County

From 12:01 A.M. April 8 thru to 11:59 P.M., April 18, there were at least 158 individuals who were arrested and were brought to be lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of those 158 or so, 17 of those arrested were from Lawrence County.

As of sunrise Thursday morning April 19, there were 342 inmates lodged at Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville; in which the maximum designated capacity for the BSRDC is to hold 225 inmates. That is approximately 52% overcapacity. For comparison, the Pike County Detention Center in Pikeville, Kentucky at 12:00 P.M. Thursday April 19, has 371 inmates booked, in a facility that designated maximum capacity is for 400 inmates.

A total of 17 people were taken in custody in Lawrence County between April 10 thru April 18. Another 2 Lawrence County residents were arrested in neighboring Kentucky counties ( 1 in Elliot County, and 1 in Johnson County).

The names and criminal charges of the latest 17 Lawrence County arrests (and the 2 out of county arrests) are the following:

Amber N. HarlessAmber N. Harless, 30, of Blaine, Kentucky; was arrested on April 10, 2018, at 12:47 P.M., in the Lawrence County Court, by court security officer Karl Adkins, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Brandon L. BurchettBrandon L. Burchett,  26, of Louisa,was arrested on April 10, 2018, at 12:51 P.M., in the Lawrence County Court, by court security officer Karl Adkins, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, • SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.

Daniels, 24, of Argillite, Kentucky, was taken into custody and booked on April 12, 2018, at 2:13 A.M., in the Lawrence County Court, by the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence: • CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Robert E. ClayRobert E. Clay, 55, of Louisa, was arrested on April 12, 2018, at 8:55 P.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:

• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – ( > 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE).

Chafin, 40, of Louisa, was arrested on April 12, 2018, at 7:54 P.M., by patrolman officer Shane James of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 10 D.U. DRUG UNSPECIFIED).

Shannon, 33, of Louisa, was arrested on April 12, 2018, at 7:56 P.M., by patrolman officer Hunter James of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 10 D.U. DRUG UNSPECIFIED), • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 2ND DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (<20 D.U. DRUG UNSPECIFIED SCHEDULE 3), • PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER I.

Moore, 71, of Brainbridge, Ohio; was arrested on April 14, 2018, at 4:11 A.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS /ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE, • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 3RD DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED, • RESIDENTS NOT TO USE LICENSE OF OTHER STATES.

 

 

 

 

 

Jeffery WebbJeffery Webb, 48, of Louisa, was arrested on April 16, 2018, at 3:07 P.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with:

• THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.

 

 

 

 

 

Amanda L. BurchetteAmanda L. Burchette, 38, of Webbville, Kentucky; was arrested on April 16, 2018, at 5:54 P.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with:

• THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/ $500, • CRIMINAL TRESPASSING-2ND DEGREE.
