LAWRENCE CO. WINS HOME OPENER OVER RUSSELL; HOST PRESTONSBURG FRIDAY

Louisa, Ky. — Lawrence Co. ( 4-1 ) won for the third straight time 74-45 over Russell ( 2-3 ) Tuesday night at home. 

Kensley Feltner with Head Coach Melinda Feltner was honored before the game for passing Timmy Dalton for the all time scoring record at LCHS. 

Sophie Adkins led the Dawgs with 18 points, Leandra Curnutte tallied 17 points, Kensley Feltner added 14 points, Abby Nelson and Abby Maynard had 7 points each, Madison Artrip had 5 points, Emmalee Holt and Kaison Ward had 3 points each.

The Bulldogs hit 10 three pointers and went 10 of 13 from the free throw line.

The Dawgs hit the road on Friday and came away with the lopsided victory over the Hawks. 

Kensley Feltner led the Bulldogs with 25 points, Leandra Curnutte added 15 points, Abby Nelson netted 11 points, Kaison Ward had 8 points, Emmalee Holt and Abby Maynard 5 points each, Sophie Adkins 3 points and Jada Patton 2 points. 

Lawrence Co. hit 7 three pointers and went 11 of 14 from the free throw line. 

The Bulldogs will host District rival Prestonsburg at 6:00 on Friday before playing Frederick Douglass in the Traditional Bank Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic at 4:15 on Saturday.
