LAWRENCE CO. TRAVEL BASEBALL TEAM WINS FATHERS DAY BASH

Paintsville, Ky The Lawrence Co. 12U travel baseball team captured the championship in the annual Fathers Day bash this past weekend at the Johnson Co. Cal Ripken complex going 3-1 to win the tournament.

The Dawgs opened pool play with a shutout of Magoffin Co. 3-0 and then suffered a tough one run 5-4 loss to the host Johnson Co. travel team on Saturday.

On Sunday in the tournament it was the 12 year old Dawgs beating Magoffin Co. once again in shutout fashion this time 7-0 to set up a rematch with Johnson Co. for the championship.

Lawrence Co. came out on fire and avenged the loss on Saturday with a 9-1 victory over the host to bring the trophy back to Lawrence Co.
