Lawrence Co. snaps two game skid by blowing out Jenkins

Jenkins, Ky Lawrence Co. ( 9-6 ) snapped a two game losing streak with a 77-38 blowout victory over Jenkins ( 2-7 ) on the road Tuesday night.

Kensley Feltner had another huge game versus Jenkins with 25 points and 11 rebounds. 

 

The Dawgs were led by Kensley Feltner with 25 points and 11 rebounds, Ellie Webb hit 4 three pointers and finished with 20 points and pulled down 6 boards, Kaison Ward tallied a double double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, Sophie Adkins scored 8 points, Emmallee Holt had 6 points, Kyleah Ward 4 points and Emily Artrip 2 points.

 

Kaison Ward pulled down 11 rebounds to go with her 12 points to help Lawrence Co. win over Jenkins. 

 

Lawrence Co. hit 8 three pointers and went 11 of 15 from the charity strip.

 

Pikeville 72, Lawrence County 66

 

Louisa, Ky. — In a battle of top five teams in the 15th Region Pikeville ( 10-4 ) outlasted Lawrence Co. 72-66 Monday night.

 

 

Lawrence Co. had a lead in the fourth quarter and let it slip right through their hands against the Panthers ( 10-4 ) who are the top ranked team in the 15th Region.

 

 

Kensley Feltner was the games leading scorer with 30 points, Ellie Webb finished with 12 points, Sophie Adkins tallied 10 points, Kaison Ward 7 points, Kyleah Ward 4 points and Emmallee Holt hit a three pointer for 3 points.

 

Lawrence Co. went 5 of 18 from the deep and 15 of 24 from the charity stripe.

 

 

 

Johnson Central 70 Lawrence Co. 57 ( Saturday )

 

LOUISA, KY. — In another battle of top ten teams in the 15th Region the Golden Eagles ( 9-2 ) topped the Lady Bulldogs at the Dawg House.

 

 

Ellie Webb hit 6 three pointers and finished with 24 points to lead the Dawgs, Kensley Feltner tallied 23 points, Sophie Adkins 4 points, Tyra Hammond, Kyleah and Kaison Ward chipped in with 2 points each.

 

Lawrence Co. went 6 of 24 from behind the arc and 11 of 14 from the three point line.

 

 

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday night at Home against Belfry ( 9-5 ). The two teams met on January 25th with the Lady Pirates winning 56-53.

COACH’S COMMENTS

 

 

“… We rescheduled the Jenkins game trying to beat the bad weather. I felt our girls got off to a slow start but finished the game strong. We need to continue to build on this strong outing because our games don’t get any easier. We are in a tough stretch of our schedule but this is helping to prepare us for tournament time.”
