Lawrence Co. shuts out Shelby Valley for third time, will play Belfry Thursday for District Title

Pond Creek, Ky — The Lady SoccerDawgs ( 12-5 ) advanced to the Girls 58th District Championship with a 13-0 1st half victory over Shelby Valley Tuesday night at Belfry High School.

The Dawgs scored 13 goals in the first half and the game was called at Halftime.

LC senior Sarah Lycans scored 7 goals Tuesday night against Shelby Valley.

Senior Sarah Lycans scored 7 goals and added 1 assist, Junior Ellie Webb 3 goals and and 1 assist, Senior Autumn Maynard 2 goals and 1 assist, Freshman Alyssa Howard 1 goal, Sophomore Alyssa Moore 4 assists, Sophomore Camran Diamond 2 assists, Freshman Brylee Blair 1 assist
and Sophomore Jasmine Justice 1 assist.

The Lady Bulldogs will play at Belfry for the 58th District crown Thursday night at 6:00. The two teams met twice in the regular season with Lawrence Co. winning both games 4-3 and 6-1.

On the Boys side with only two teams in the District Lawrence Co. will play at Belfry Thursday night at 8:00 for the 58th District Championship. The two teams split in the regular season.

COACH’S COMMENT

“… I thought we moved the ball well and connected on passes early as we picked up a first round win. Thursday’s game will be more difficult with Belfry having home field advantage. It should be a great game.”
