ALLEGED CHILD SEX ABUSE SUSPECT INDICTED BY BOYD COUNTY JURY IN MARCH 2022;

AUGUST 27, 2022 – written by WADE QUEEN

CHILD SEX ABUSE SUSPECT: CLINTON D. WHITT, 44, OF LOUISA, IS SCHEDULED TO GO ON TRIAL IN BOYD COUNTY IN NOVEMBER, FOR RAPE, SODOMY, INCEST, AND SEXUAL ABUSE OF A CHILD. CLINTON WHITT IS ALSO FACING ALMOST IDENTICAL CHARGES IN LAWRENCE COUNTY..

A Lawrence County man accused of raping a child for more than three years is scheduled for trial on November 14 in Catlettsburg, KY., on the charges in connection to the case..

Clinton D. Whitt, 44, of Louisa, was indicted by a Boyd Couty grand jury in March 2022 on four sex crimes, where first-degree sodomy; first-degree rape; first-degree incest;.and first-degree sexual abuse, with all four charges with enhanced penalty, due to the victim being under 12 years of age.

According to the Boyd County indictment, Clinton Whitt sexually abused the victim between March 2017 and August 2020.

Clinton Whitt has been in jail since March 9, 2022, after his arrest by the Boyd County Sheriff Office, and is being held at the Boyd County Detention Center in Catlettsburg on $250,000 full cash bond.

On Friday, August 18, attorneys in the case told Boyd County Circuit Court Judge George Davis that there is no deal in sight and the case would have to go to trial.

Judge Davis penciled the date in, with a pretrial for October 7.

Assistant prosecutor Gary Conn reminded the judge that a big trial; that of former deputy jailer Colton Griffith; would be going on in October.

“There’s always a trial scheduled,” Judge Davis replied to asst. pros. Conn.

The trial of Clinton Whitt is expected to last two to four days.

If convicted, Clinton D. Whitt could face life in prison on his charges, as three of the four sex crime charges against Clinton Whitt are Class A felonies, with each charge punishable with between 20 and 50 years in prison.

    If you can do this to a child…. especially one in your own bloodline you are morally bankrupt in every sense of the word, and a mind this dark is too far gone to rehabilitate.
