LIBRARY TO HOST BOOK GIVEAWAY
The Lawrence County Public Library will host a book giveaway September 13-15, 2018. The event will be held Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. – noon.
The giveaway is part of the library’s collection management process as well as preparation for the upcoming renovation project. This process, also known as “weeding”, is essential for future collection development as it allows room for new materials to be purchased, as well as the removal of material that is no longer relevant or has not circulated for a designated time period.
Books available will be from a variety of genres. There is no limit on the amount of books an individual may take. Patrons must have transportation and be capable of carrying the books to their vehicle. There will be no holds or deliveries. The giveaway will be on the library front lawn. In case of inclement weather, the event will be inside.
