LOUISA, KY It’s hard to believe that it is already time for Postseason around Kentucky and especially in Lawrence Co. but this week Bulldog Lane will be jammed packed with Sports action as Girls and Boys Soccer, Volleyball and Football will all be playing for District Championships this week.

Hayleah Fletcher and her teammates look to continue the dominance over the 58th District tonight.

The action will kickoff tonight at the LCHS Soccer Complex with Girls 58th District semifinal games between #1 Lawrence Co. ( 15-1 ) and #4 Pikeville ( 3-12 ) at 6:00. Belfry and Shelby Valley will play in the second game at 7:45.

Lexie Workman and her teammates are shooting for a spot in the 15th Region tournament for the first time in school history.

Right next door at 7:30 in the LCHS Gym it will be 58th District Volleyball semifinal with #3 Lawrence Co. ( 14-18 ) facing #2 Betsy Layne ( 6-19 ) at approximately 7:30. In the first game it will be #1 Floyd Central and #4 Prestonsburg at 6:00.

Tyler Maynard and his Bulldog teammates will be play for a District Championship in the schools inaugural campaign.

Lawrence Co. Boys soccer captured the #1 seed and received the bye and will play for the Championship Wednesday night at 8:00 vs the winner of Belfry and Shelby Valley who play Tuesday night at 6:00 at the LCHS Complex.

On Friday night the Lawrence Co. ( 5-3 ) football team will look to snap a long losing streak to nemesis Belfry ( 6-1 ) and claim the Class 3A District 6 Championship.

Girls Soccer Head Coach Heath Webb

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… This is the time of year we have been waiting for. The team is ready to get the post season started.”

Volleyball Head Coach Autumn Blevins

COACH’S COMMENTS

“ Coming off of a five game winning streak, we feel confident going into tonight’s game. Our hitters have found their rhythm and we have been more consistent with our serves as well as passing. If we play lose and apply pressure, there is no doubt we will get our first regional tournament birth!”

Boys Soccer Head Coach Scott Johnson

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… The team is looking forward to hosting districts this year and having the number one seed. We are cautious though, because we have seen the soccer that Belfry is capable of playing and they are a threatening team. This will be a good high pressure test before we head to regionals next week.”

Lawrence Co. Superintendent Robbie Fletcher

SUPER’S COMMENTS

“… I’m glad that our students get the opportunity to compete for a championship in front of the home crowd. I hope that everyone takes time this week to support our student athletes. It will be an exciting week! ALL IN!”
