Indictments for the month of November 2017
Meth, theft and Driving under the influence with multiple previous convictions dominates the Grand Jury Indictments for the month of November. It seems as meth is the prominent drug being abused in our community with no STOP in sight.
Matthew Caudill, 35 of Louisa, Ky. Bailjumping in the 1st Degree (class D felony)
The Grand Jury charges that on October 13th, 2017 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully having been released from custody by the court. With or without bail, upon condition that he subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with felony charges and failed to appear at the time and place as ordered by the court, namely a sentencing hearing.
Michael Cooper, 32 of Nicholasville, Ky. Bailjumping in the 1st Degree (class D felony)
The Grand Jury charges that on May 17th, 2017 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully having been released from custody by the court. With or without bail, upon condition that he subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with felony charges and failed to appear at the time and place as ordered by the court, namely a pre-trial hearing.
Chastity Nichols, 32, of Louisa, Ky. 3 Counts of Theft By Unlawful Taking Over $500 (class D felony)
The Grand Jury charges that from on or about May 1st, 2017 through June 8th, 2017 the defendant committed the offenses by knowingly and unlawfully taking $4,321.59, $1,942.56 and $760.00 in cash from Valero of Louisa, Ky. while employed there. The amounts were taken at different times resulting in 3 charges.
Travis Lay, 21 of Louisa, KY. Possession Of A Controlled Substance In the 1st Degree, (class D felony) Escape In The Second (2nd ) Degree (class D felony), Operating on Suspended License, (misdemeanor) Illegal Possession Of A Legend Drug (misdemeanor) Drug Paraphernalia Possession (misdemeanor)
The Grand Jury charges that on or before July 27th. 2017 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance, escaped the custody of Home Incarceration officers with the 24th Judicial Circuit Community Corrections Program by leaving his residence without permission from court ordered home incarceration as part of bond conditions. The defendant possessed a legend drug by possessing clonidine and was in possession of a cigarette pack the defendant used for the purpose storing and concealing a controlled substance.
April Harper, 33 of Louisa, KY. Tampering With Physical Evidence and Possession/Use of Drug Paraphernalia.
The Grand Jury charges that on or before September 24,2017 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully destroyed, removed, altered or concealed physical evidence that she believed would be used against her in an official proceeding, and the defendant unlawfully possessed an altered glass pipe with burn marks.
Crystal Wheeler, 40 of Louisa, Ky. Possession of a Controlled Substance In The First Degree (class D felony) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (misdemeanor)
The Grand Jury charges that on or before August 15th, 2017 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully was in the possession of a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine. The defendant also possessed baggies, razor blade and an altered lid containing liquid residue.
Joel Stevens, 59 of Louisa, Ky. Operating A Motor Vehicle Under The Influence Of Alcohol/Drugs Fourth Offense within 10 years (class D felony) Operating on Suspended License (misdemeanor) and Persistent Felony Offender (enhancement)
The Grand Jury charges that on or before May 20th, 2017 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or other substances that impair a driver’s ability to operate that motor vehicle, while having 4 previous convictions. The defendant is charged with knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle while his license was suspended or revoked, having been convicted of a prior felony within the last five years is now charged with Persistent Felony Offender.
Winfred Scott, 27 of Louisa, Ky. Theft By Unlawful Taking Over $500 (class D felony) and Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm) (class D felony)
The Grand Jury Charges that on August 25th, 2017 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully took a Microsoft Surface Tablet, an Apple Watch, a Michael Kors brand purse, a kids backpack, a large hunting knife, an iphone 6 S, a generic brand tablet and a Toshiba laptop, a total of 1,010 of items stolen from Paula Scott of Louisa, Ky. The defendant also knowingly and unlawfully was in possession of a Marlin brand .22 caliber rifle stolen from Paula Scott of Louisa, Ky.
Brandon Burchett, 26 of Louisa, KY. Possession Of A Controlled Substance In The First Degree (class D felony)
The Grand Jury Charges that on or before September 20th, 2017 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance, namely Methamphetamine.
Linda Deskins, 50 of Plain City, OH 2 counts of Possession Of A Controlled Substance In the 1st Degree (class D felony) and Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia First Offense (misdemeanor)
The Grand Jury charges that on or before June 26th, 2017 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine. The defendant knowingly and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance, namely hydrocodone. The defendant was also in possession of drug paraphernalia, an altered straw containing chemical residue.
Richard Laney, 57 of Louisa, KY. Operating A Motor Vehicle Under The Influence Of Alcohol/Drugs Fourth Offense or Greater Within Ten Years (class D felony) Operating on Suspended License (misdemeanor), Failure To Wear Seatbelts (violation), and Failure To Surrender Revoked Operater’s License (misd)
The Grand Jury charges that on or before August 3, 2017 the defendant committed the offense by operating a motor vehicle while being under the influence of alcohol or other substances that impair a driver’s ability to operate that motor vehicle while having 3 prior convictions. The defendant was operating the motor vehicle on suspended or revoked license, without proper seat belts and did not surrender a revoked operator’s license.
Nathaniel M. Pack, 34 of Louisa, Ky. Possession of a Controlled Substance (class D felony)
The Grand Jury charges that on or before July 5th, 2017 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine.
Jessica McKinney, 35 of Louisa, Ky. Possession Of a Controlled Substance In The First Degree (class D felony) and Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia First Offense (misdemeanor)
The Grand Jury charges that on or before July 2nd, 2017 the defendant possessed a controlled substance, methamphetamine. The defendant acting alone or in complicity with Matthew Caudill knowingly and unlawfully possessed a syringe.
Carl Bowen, 47 of Dunlow, WV. Burglary In The Third Degree (class D felony)
The Grand Jury charges that on or about August 19th, 2017 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully entered and remained in WalMart of Louisa, Ky. with the intent to commit the crime of theft after previously being banned twice from the facility.
Kristina Salmons, 35 of St. Albans, WV. Theft By Unlawful Taking Under 10,000/Complicity (class D felony) Receiving Stolen Property Under 10,000/Complicity (class D felony) Giving Officer False Identifying Information (misd)
The Grand Jury charges that on Oct. 15th, 2017 the defendant acting alone or in complicity with Justin Hagar committed the offense by knowingly and unlawfully taking $656.11 worth of merchandise from Walmart of Louisa, Ky. namely, a car stereo, a pair of socks, headphones, a phone case, 4 books, 2 sodas, 2 pairs of sunglasses and various other items with the value exceeding $500. The defendants knowingly and unlawfully possessed a 2008 Saturn Astra XE stolen from Moses Ford Lincoln of St. Albans, WV with an estimated value of $1,750, and mislead a police officer as to his or her identity, gave a false name, address or biometric information.
