Greenup, Ky. — The Lawrence Co. Girls improved to 17-9 on the season after a 57-49 victory over Greenup Co. ( 11-17 ) on Thursday night.

Sophie Adkins had a game high 28 points in the win over the Musketeers, Kaison Ward and Jada Patton scored 9 points each, Abby Nelson and Abby Maynard tallied 4 points each and Madison Artrip tallied 3 points.
The Dawgs hit 3 three pointers and went 8 of 14 from the free throw line.

Sophie Adkins went 10 for 10 from the free throw line and led the Bulldogs with 20 points, Jada Patton tallied 18 points, Kaison Ward hit 3 three pointers and finished with 12 points, Abby Nelson scored 6 points, Leandra Curnutte and Madison Artrip had 3 points each.

The Dawgs couldn’t muster much offense and dropped a home contest to the Patriots.

The Bulldogs went on the road and picked up a nice victory over the Hawks.
Sophie Adkins poured in a game high 25 points, Kaison Ward hit 3 three pointers and tallied 9 points, Leandra Curnutte and Abby Maynard had 7 points each, Jada Patton added 5 points and Abby Nelson chipped in with 2 points.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Tuesday for Senior night against Morgan Co. ( 9-15 ) before closing out the regular season on Thursday versus Johnson Central ( 22-2 ) at home.

“…Proud of how our kids finished the week out going to Greenup County and coming away with the win. It was a long week and I’m proud of how strong we finished.”
“… In the Pike Central game we never could hold onto a good lead. We did some good things, figuring some things out but have to finish games better. They are a solid team and on their home court we have to maintain our focus throughout the game. Definitely glad to come away with a road win in a tough environment.”
“… Knott Central which I feel has a great opportunity to win that region, we did everything defensively we could do. We held them to 43 points, out rebounded them and only had 10 turnovers but we could not buy a basket. We really struggled from the field. That’s how the ball bounces sometimes. But I was proud of their defensive effort.”
