LOUISA, KY. —  On behalf of the Lawrence County Fair Board we would like to say THANK YOU for our community support.

The  Lawrence County Fair has started strong! We had record turn out for our pickleball, motorcross, and pageant.   Without our community support through sponsorship, attendance, and being patient with us as we continue to grow it would not be as successful.  If you missed out this weekend we look forward to seeing you next weekend at the livestock shows, horseshows, or the many events Saturday including the rodeo.  To see a full list and times visit our facebook page or website.

The fair started, Saturday July 20th 8am, at the Lawrence County Tennis Courts, with the second annual Pickleball Tournament and the Hilltop Motorcross Track.

Pickleball hosted 37 teams in multiple categories with each being separated by experience level.  This was an amazing addition to the fair last year on a recommendation by fair board member Mary Adams.  The fair board looks forward to continuing this tradition, as pickleball picks up interest in our area.  The results of the Pickleball tournament winners are as follows:

3.0 Women’s Singles:  Katelyn Pauley

3.5 Men’s Singles: Winners Brent Pack

3.0 Men’s Singles: Bob Hudson

3.5 Women’s Doubles: Samantha Prince and Anita Bjorkely

3.0 Men’s Doubles: Gold Michael James and Brody Riffe ,

3.0 Women’s Doubles : Adrian Webb and Eden Ross.

3.5 Men’s Doubles: Joshua Burton and Adam Brack

4.0 Men’s Doubles: Luke Christopher and Noah Compton

3.0 Mixed Doubles: Paula King and Bob Hudson

3.5 Mixed Doubles: Dawn Hall and Daniel Ward

While the tennis courts were in full go, the engines were revving on the hillside at the fairgrounds.  There were motorcyclist participating.  This event has become part of the fair circuit for Tristate mx, while riders do not have to be part of the circuit there is an added incentive for those that are.   Results of the Motorcross should be reported later in the week.
