LAWRENCE CO. 11U BRINGS HOME CAL RIPKEN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Prestonsburg, Ky. — Lawrence Co. 11U double dips Lexington Southeastern to win the Cal Ripken State Championship Sunday at the Stonecrest Sportspark.

In the first game on Saturday Lexington Southeastern won 9-2.

 

 

 

In the second game on Saturday Eli Caudill singled home Dawson Kitts and Colin Adams to win it 4-3 and force a third and deciding game on Sunday.

 

 

 

In the third and final game on Sunday afternoon Aiden Isaac singled home Maddox Fletcher for the game winner to claim the state title 2-1.

 

 

Rylan Clay went the first five innings, struck out 10 and allowed 1 run, Dawson Kitts picked up the victory in relief after facing a bases loaded and no out situation in the top of the sixth inning.

 

 

 

With the state title in hand the boys earned a trip to Green Bay, Wisconsin for Regionals.
