LADY REBELS ARE 5-2 GOING INTO 2019

WORTHINGTON, KY. —  Tolsia fell to 5-2 on the year after a 50-37 loss to Pikeville ( 7-5 ) in the Mr. Micro Computers Ohio River Classic at Raceland on Friday afternoon.
Trinity Muncy with the nice move right before the end of the first quarter for two points vs Pikeville.

Sarah Jude scored 18 points including 3 three pointers in the contest to lead the Lady Rebels, Julie Boone tallied 7 points, Lynndsey Cassell finished with 6 points, Selena Browning, Katelyn Kelly and Trinity Muncy had 2 points each.

THS hit 4 three pointers and went 4-10 from the free throw line.

PHS hit 1 three pointer and went 17-26 from the free throw line.

PHS 13 15 12 10 = 50

The Lady Rebels made quick work of the Lady Warriors at Rebel Arena.

Katelyn Kelly had 12 points and Isabella Simpkins had 11 points to lead Tolsia, Jace Litton finished with 6 points, Sarah Jude, Elizabeth Johnson, Taylor Ball and Lynndsey Cassell had 4 points each, Trinity Muncy and Kylea Pollinger had 3 points each, Selena Browning and Julie Boone chipped in with 2 points each.

Senior Sarah Jude is closing in on 900 points for her career as a Lady Rebel.

Sarah Jude poured in 31 points to lead the Lady Rebels to a blowout victory over the Lady Bulldogs at Rebel Arena.

Logan 42 Tolsia 37

The Lady Rebels played one of the best teams in Class AA down to the wire but couldn’t overcome poor shooting in the loss.

Julie Boone led the Lady Rebels with 10 points, Kylea Pollinger hit 2 three pointers and finished with 8 points, Sarah Jude and Lynndsey Cassell had 7 points each, Katelyn Kelly had 3 points and Selena Browning chipped in with 2 points.

Tolsia will be back in action next Thursday in a sectional match up with Sherman at Rebel Arena.

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… We just couldn’t buy a basket against Logan, had all kind of chances to pull out the win and just didn’t get the big basket when we needed it. Kylea Pollinger hit a couple big threes to get us close.”

“… Slow starts against good teams have been tough to overcome. We have been lucky a couple times that slow starts haven’t hurt us.”

“… Sarah Jude was outstanding against Van she was a one women wrecking crew. Hit a big shot at the end the first quarter and that propelled her and us to the big Section win.”
