COACH’S COMMENTS

“… Magoffin County was another road game for us but we were able to come away with a win even when we didn’t play our best game. Against a tough Tug valley team we did some really good things but just couldn’t finish the game. We led most of the game and even with 3:30 minutes to go had a 7 point lead. I called timeouts to get us organized for the last part of the quarter but we didn’t execute. I have to do a better job of preparing them in practice for those situations.”

“…We’ve played a tough schedule and knew we’d have some hard losses and I told the girls after the game I liked our intensity. They played hard the entire game. We had more assists than turnovers and rebounded the ball much better so parts of our game are really improving just closing them out with a lead is something we are still working on. We know these experiences will help us during tournament time. We have another tough task tonight playing Prestonsburg on the road. Big district matchup and our kids know how important this game is for our district standings. We just have to bounce back and take care of business against Prestonsburg.”
