Lady Dawgs lose close one to Johnson Central

Louisa, Ky — Lawrence Co. ( 3-3 ) played the defending 15th Region Champs right down to the wire before falling 47-43 to Johnson Central Tuesday at the Dawg House.

Kaison Ward led the Lady Dawgs with 13 points, Kensley Feltner tallied 12 points, Lexi Ratliff 9 points, Kyleah Ward 4 points, Ellie Webb 3 points and Brooke Neal 2 points.

LCHS hit 3 three pointers and went 6-13 from the charity stripe.

Johnson Central was led by Sammi Sites with 16 points, Kelci Blair 7 points, K.K. Vannoy 5 points, Becca Wright and Abbie Stambaugh with 4 points each.

JCHS hit 2 three pointers and went 17-26 from the free throw line.

The Lady Bulldogs will return to action on Thursday with a trip to Shelby Valley before hosting Magoffin Co. Friday night.

“… We had the lead and couldn’t finish. I bet we set a world record last night for turnovers. It was unbelievable, We turned it over way too many times. It was a man to man press and when they would bring someone to trap we just panicked. But we also turned it over in the half court. So it didn’t matter.”
