COACH’S COMMENTS

“… The underdog role has played to our advantage the last couple years. We didn’t play very good our last game out and we just have to refocus.”

“… Betsy Layne is a very gritty team that plays extremely hard. They, like us, have 2 seniors that lead their team. Megan Frazier is their leading scorer averaging 19.7 points and 9.1 rebounds a game. We have to do a good job containing her and keeping her off the glass. Destiny Compton is another senior for them. She’s averaging 15.4 points per game and also 9 rebounds. They are also led by freshman point guard Caroline Ariaz who can cause lots of havoc on defense. These are the players we are focusing on stopping and it’s going to be a total team effort for us to stop them. These players crash the offensive glass hard and we have to do a better job of keeping them off the glass.”

“… We cannot turn the ball over, we must rebound, execute our plan defensively on their best scorers and offensively have to knock down shots in order to win the game. Our girls know we are in for a battle against them. We are excited for tournament play.”
