LADY DAWGS FINISH RUNNER UP IN THE LYNDEL POTTER MEMORIAL

Pikeville, Ky. — The Lady Dawgs battled the heat and played four games in 24 hours to finish runner up in the 16th annual Lyndel Potter Memorial tournament played at Pikeville high school over this past weekend.

Lawrence Co. is now 11-4 on the season.

#9 Amber Triplett scampers home from third base against Pike Co. Central.

 

Lawrence Co. 13 Paris 3 (Friday night)

In the first game of pool play the Lady Bulldogs won a mercy shortened game as Amber Triplett had 3 hits, Ciana Bowen 2 hits, Keyarah Bowen, Abby Fletcher, Brittany Shapaka and Hali Caudill had 1 hit each.
Mackenzie Methax started in the circle and finished with 9 strikeouts.

 

Lawrence Co. 1 Pikeville 0 (Saturday morning)

In a battle of the top two teams in the 15th Region the Lady Dawgs won a very tight contest.

Ciana Bowen was outstanding in the circle with 7 strikeouts. Abby Fletcher and Halli Caudill had 1 hit each. Amber Triplett scored the only run of the game.

Lawrence Co. 8 Pike Co. Central 3 ( Saturday afternoon )

Halli Caudill had 3 hits, Ciana Bowen and Keyarah Bowen 2 hits each, Amber Triplett, Mackenzie Methax and Lillian Kinser 1 hit a piece. Methax picked up the win and struck out 3 Lady Hawks.

Garrard Co. 14 Lawrence Co. 4 (Saturday night)

In the Championship game it was Lawrence Co. racing out to a 4-0 lead before Garrard Co. (12-2) clawed their way back for the victory.

Lawrence Co. will travel to Boyd Co. Tuesday and Prestonsburg on Thursday.
