With the show airing on Wednesday KSR has been to 81 of the 120 counties in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and plan to hit all of them before it is all said and done. KSR CAN BE HEARD ON THE NEW WVAH FM 99.3 RADIO NETWORK, which also broadcasts LC Bulldog Football on Friday nights with Wendall Feltner and Chuck Price.
“… The people here are extremely nice. I have known that over the years. I like the culture here. There’s a lot of pride in the mountains which I have as well. One of the things that’s so unique about this place is the music impact, and you have the Supreme Court Justice Fred Vinson from here. I didn’t even know he was from here until today and we studied him in Law School. This is a place with a lot of history but more importantly a good sense of community.”
“… We have done a radio show in 81 of the 120 counties. We have hit most of central Kentucky and a lot of Western Kentucky. A lot of these small areas we haven’t hit yet. We have been to Ashland a lot, Johnson and Pike county a lot. But some of these places like Owsley and Lee County we have not been. I am hoping to do some on this trip. I have made some friends like Laid Back Country Picker and the Tyler Childers band and then met my Hillbilly Hibachi Guys. I probably know more people here than in some of the other counties. I know your State Representative Kathy Hinkle. It’s not just people here you have a lot of big people who are well known. Tyler is one of the biggest acts in the country right now. You have Ricky Skaggs, Larry Cordle and Major League Baseball player Chandler Shepherd.
“… There’s two things I care about and people are passionate about, sports is one and politics is the other. What I have learned and I really believe and this goes counter to what’s on television is if you respect people it’s okay and they’re ok with you disagreeing with them. Maybe the majority of people who listen to my show don’t agree with me politically but they listen because they know I don’t look down on them, I don’t think they’re bad people. So yes there are people who disagree with me but you can’t let those people get you down. For every one person that’s terrible there are a 100 that are awesome.”“… There’s a little bit of difference from Northeast Kentucky to southeast Kentucky. But they still have a lot of pride from where they are from. There is still a lot of pride and connection with all these places because of coal and music, and UK basketball. I think Eastern Kentucky wherever it starts Estill County East or London East people just have a kinship here.”
