Glasgow native new executive director of Republican Party of Kentucky

Sarah Pickerel as the Ky. Republican Party's new executive directorThe Republican Party of Kentucky selected Sarah Pickerel as the organization’s new executive director.

Pickerel, a native of Glasgow, has worked for RPK for more than three years as finance director and, most recently, deputy executive director. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2012 with a dual major in political science and broadcast journalism. She previously worked for the 2012 presidential campaign for Mitt Romney during the general election and has political experience in communications and field work.

“Sarah’s contributions at the Party over the last few election cycles have been vital to the successes we have enjoyed. I am excited to work with her in this new role,” RPK Chairman Mac Brown said in a news release. “She is popular with elected officials, has a great relationship with donors and grassroots leaders and is respected by the Party staff. When the job came open, it quickly became clear she was the right person for the job.”
