(Ashland, KY) —   The Kentucky State Police in Ashland will be hosting their twenty-fifth annual Trooper Island Golf Scramble on August 2, 2019 at Hidden Cove Golf Course at Grayson Lake State Park. There will be a shotgun start at 0830 hours. All participants will receive gifts and door prizes after the scramble as well as lunch. There will be cash awards for First, Second, Third place and cash prizes for the longest drive and the closest to the pin. Additional games and prizes will be located across the course including the hole-in-one for a chance at a 2019 Dodge Ram Pickup made possible by Pure Country Automotive. All proceeds will benefit Trooper Island.

Trooper Island is located on Dale Hollow Lake in South-central Kentucky and is leased to the Kentucky State Police from the Corps of Engineers. Each year, 32 children, ages 10-12 years from Boyd, Carter, Greenup, and Lawrence Counties are sent to this one-week camp. These are children that may not be able to afford another summer camp or may have had a tragic event occur in their past, or have been recommended by a teacher or guidance counselor.

Persons interested should contact Senior Trooper Bobby King, Public Affairs Officer KSP Ashland at 606-928-6421. Entry forms are available at the Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland.

Participants can turn in their entry form to the Kentucky State Police Post along with their 240 dollar team entry fee made payable to KSP Post 14 Children’s Camp Fundraising. There is a maximum 30 team entry.
