Kentucky State Police Indicts Boyd County Child Support Office Manager

ASHLAND, KY. (December 2, 2019) – On September 27, 2019, The Kentucky State Police, Post 14 Ashland was contacted by the Boyd County Child Support Contracting Official. The call was concerning his Child Support Office Manager, Mary Pickett, age 55 of Flatwoods, unlawfully taking money from the payroll account. Mrs. Pickett’s employment was subsequently terminated and she was escorted out of the office.

Through investigation it was determined a large sum of money was taken over a period of years from the payroll account. No funds had been taken from any child support account or case. Through further investigation, it was revealed Mrs. Pickett had forged the name of another county official on multiple occasions to obtain more money unlawfully.

On Tuesday, November 26, 2019, this case was presented before the Boyd County Grand Jury. The Grand Jury returned an indictment on Mrs. Pickett:

1 count of TBUT or DISP all others $10,000 or more but under $1,000,000

76 counts of Forgery 1st degree

This case remains under investigation by Detective Jeff Kelley.
