ASHLAND, Ky. (July 1, 2024) – The Kentucky State Police, Ashland Post 14, which provides coverage for Boyd, Carter, Lawrence and Carter counties, will be conducting periodic traffic safety checkpoints approved by the Kentucky State Police Policy and Procedures Manual. These checkpoints will be conducted in an effort to enforce the traffic laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Special attention will be paid to seatbelt usage, sobriety, insurance and registration violations.

The Kentucky State Police utilizes traffic safety checkpoints to promote safety for motorists using the public roadways and to provide a deterrent for those who violate laws contained in the Kentucky Revised Statutes.

A complete list of traffic safety checkpoint’s location can be found at:

Having safety check points is amazing
But when someone is being targeted for living in a area known for drug activity that’s by far not ok I can’t help what others do
But dehumanizing someone an making them feel as though there not human an depriving them of their kindness and dignity and making them out to be something there not an constantly wanting to search there car because of who there with like they did the evening of July first to only find a narcan I don’t have to be on drugs to help people from dying an getting threatened that I’m going to jail amoungst other things is depriving me of my rights to be myself
