Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland Safety Checkpoint Advisory

Ashland, Ky. (October 3, 2016) – The Kentucky State Police at Ashland will be conducting safety checkpoints at various times and approved locations throughout the Post 14 District, which encompasses Boyd, Greenup, Carter and Lawrence counties.

These safety checkpoints are held in an effort to reduce alcohol and drug related crashes, ensure compliance with operator’s license laws, and vehicle equipment safety and registration laws.

Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland Monthly Activity Report for September 2016

Ashland, Ky. (October 3, 2016) – During the month of September 2016 there were 22motor vehicle collisions investigated by State Police working out of the Ashland Post in the four counties of Boyd, Greenup, Carter, and Lawrence. 

During September 2016 there was one fatality (Lawrence County – 1) in the Post 14 area. Statewide fatalities stand at 579 compared to 542for the same time period in 2015.
