This weekend was free fishing weekend in Kentucky which corresponded perfectly with KIDS FISHING DAY (Saturday June 2) at Yatesville Lake State Park Marina!

Kid's Fishing Day angler David Hueston, said, ” I’ve caught a couple of bass and a few crappie but now I’m trying to get me a catfish!”

“We had a great turnout. About 50-60 kids participated in fishing tournaments and other activities,” Kayla Stepp, Marina cashier, said.

Big shout out to Luke Rickman for a 14 1/2” bass.

There were groups of 3-5 lining the shores at the marina and it continued on the side roads. The smiles were priceless.

“I’ve caught a couple of bass and a few crappie but now I’m trying to get me a catfish,” said angler David Hueston.”Thank you Department of Fish&Wildlife and Yatesville Park for making it possible for that ‘first fish caught’ feeling.”

Savannah and Sherry Whitt along with Gabe Hueston had a great day of family fun.

Papaw John Cornette, grandchildren Tori, Gracie and Bella Cordle.

Clorisia Followay, Camron, Elizabeth and friend Trinity.
