Middle Dawgs win sportsmanship award
Russell, Ky. — Louisa Middle 8th Grader Brock Kessinger and 6th Grader Trey Hall both qualified for State Governor’s cup on at Russell Middle School in the Region 18 Academic meet this past Saturday.
Kessinger finished fourth in Mathematics and Hall finished fourth in Arts and Humanities. Both students will travel to Louisville on March 11-13 to compete at the state level.
Louisa Middle quick recall team went 1-2 in the double elimination tournament. The Dawgs trailed McKell 17-10 at halftime and came all the way back to win 27-24 in first round action. In round two is was Rowan Co. getting the win vs Louisa and then in the elimination round it was West Carter over Louisa.
The Academic team also brought home the sportsmanship award from Region 18.
