Olive Hill, KY. (July 7, 2021) – On Tuesday, July 6, 2021, Kentucky State Police Post 14 received a request for assistance from the Olive Hill Police Department, after Richard Dunaway was reported to be lying in the roadway on Democrat Hill.
Mr. Dunaway sustained severe injuries caused by an assault. He was transported to Saint Clair Medical Center, and then transferred to UK Hospital.
Interviews with witnesses indicated there was an altercation between the victim and Travis Plumber which took place in the residence at 135 Democrat Hill. Evidence at the scene and statements from those involved reveal Mr. Plumber hit Mr. Dunaway with a metal rod, causing lacerations to the victim’s head, a compound fracture to his left leg, and possible brain injuries.
The last update revealed Dunaway was in critical but stable condition. This incident remains under investigation byKSP Detective David Boarman.
