CHERRYVILLE MAN SHOOTS WIFE FOR ‘UNKNOWN REASON’, KSP SAYS IN RELEASE

 

Lawrence, Ky. (August 5, 2022) – On August 5, 2022 at approximately 00:09 hours, Kentucky State Police Post 14 received an officer assist call from Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department in regards to a shooting that occurred at 29 Rockcastle Lane in Cherryville.

Upon unit’s arrival it was determined that during an argument, Herbert Fletcher (DOB: 1-4-1979) shot his wife Kelly Fletcher (DOB: 10-20-1982) for an unknown reason.

Mr. Fletcher was arrested and lodged at the Big Sandy Detention Center and Mrs. Fletcher was originally transported to Three Rivers Medical Center but then moved to Pikeville Medical Center for further treatment.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted by Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and Lawrence County EMS.  The case remains under investigation by Detective Jeff Kelly.

    Just another example of our sheriff department passing the buck and not working something. Said times in the law enforcement area for Lawrence county. Change sure wasn’t what was promised!
