Kentucky State Police Identified Victim

In 45-year-old cold case

LONDON, KY — (November 16, 2023) Kentucky State Police Post 11 London has positively identified remains found nearly 45 years ago with the help of advanced fingerprint identification technology.

Recently, KSP Detective James Royal, with the help of the Kentucky State Police and FBI Laboratories, utilized the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) fingerprint database, in an attempt to identify the victim in an ongoing murder investigation.

KSP Post 11-London, after notifying the next of kin, announced they have positively identified the man as Michael Murray. Murray was originally from Atlanta, Georgia but was believed to have been living in California around the time of his death.

Anyone who has information regarding the death of Murray is urged to call Detective James Royal with Kentucky State Police Post 11- London at (606) 878-6622.
