Kentucky Power FINAL Restoration Update

Friday, April 5, 2024, 10:30 a.m.

Summary:

A windstorm on Tuesday, April 1, caused extensive damage to electrical facilities in Kentucky Power’s northeast service territory leaving 12,545 customers without power at the peak of the event. More than 300 Kentucky Power personnel, business partners and external resources are working to restore power.

Restoration:

Crews exceeded the restoration goal by restoring 95 percent of customers a day earlier than anticipated. There are approximately 315 customers currently without power and 92 individual outage cases. Of those 92 cases, there are only 7 which have more than 10 customers on the outage. Restoration is expected to wrap up tonight, but crews will work through the weekend if necessary.

For More Information:

  • Customers can get specific information about the outages affecting their accounts via text message and/or email by subscribing to Kentucky Power outage alerts. To sign up, go to www.KentuckyPower.com/Alerts. Customers can also get up-to-date information about their account and outages by download the app, www.KentuckyPower.com/App, and on our website at www.KentuckyPower.com/Outages.
  • Customers can call our Customer Operations Center anytime at 1-800-572-1113.
  • Restoration information also is posted on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/KentuckyPower.

This is the final update for this storm.
