Julia Alice Smith, 67, of Blaine, KY went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday January 1, 2019 following a long illness.

Julia was born September 12, 1951 in Louisa, KY the daughter of the late Willabelle Rittenberry. In addition to her mother she is preceded in death by a daughter Kay Ratliff, a son Roger Smith, a sister Charlene Blake, and her husband Cline Smith who died in 1998.

Julia was a former director of the Lawrence County Senior Citizens Center, she loved her family and friends and enjoyed helping the elderly.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Lyndella and Rick Bevins also of Blaine; a son George “Tony” Smith of Blaine; two sisters Reatha McKenzie of Chapman, KY and Nannie York of Louisa; two brothers Wayne Junior Rittenberry of Ohio and Russell McKenzie of Topsail, NC; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a great great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held on Friday Jan. 4th at 1:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the Yatesville Memorial Gardens Louisa, KY.

Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Jordan Center for all their care and love they showed their mother while she was there.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to Wilson Funeral Home to help with the funeral expenses.

Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.

    So sorry to hear of Julie’s passing. She and her husband, Cline, were assets to any community. She will be missed by all who knew her. Our prayers for his comfort go out to the family and friends.

    So sorry for your loss. I haven’t known Julie for long, but I loved seeing her at Jordan’s. She was always so pleasant and a joy to be around. My family sang on Fridays and she would be there listening to us. I will be praying for you during this difficult time. Della
