TIMOTHY L. RIVERS
THE REALLY BAD DAD WHO SHOT HIS SON WITH A GUN: TIMOTHY L. RIVERS, 61, OF RIVER, KENTUCKY

A Johnson County, Kentucky man is in jail for allegedly shooting his son because he wouldn’t stop yelling.

Deputies of the Johnson County Sheriff Office were called to a report of a shooting on Friday night, December 1, at a home on Route 1559, in the Sitka community area. When deputies arrived, they found the victim had already been taken to the hospital and located Timothy L. Rivers, 61, sitting in a chair, allegedly smoking a marijuana pipe, with his Winchester 30-30 rifle lying in front of him,, which was the gun he apparently used in the shooting.

In a recorded interview on a police body camera, Timothy Rivers allegedly told deputies his son (who has not been identified) came into a back room where he was sitting, and that his son began yelling  at him, Timothy Rivers told deputies that he warned his son to be quiet or he would hurt him. Timothy Rivers then further stated to deputies that his son continued yelling, so he (Timothy Rivers) confessed “shot the hell out of him.”

Police officers also found several marijuana plants growing in the house.

Timothy Rivers was arrested by deputy Isaac Owwenss  of the Johnson County Sheriff Office. and was charged with:

  • ATTEMPTED MURDER,
  • WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE,
  • CULTIVATE IN MARIJUANA (5 PLANTS OR MORE) 1ST OFFENSE.

Timothy Rivers was also served court bench warrants for:
