A Johnson County woman attempted to bring suspected Methamphetamine into the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center while she was in the process of being booked on a DUI charge.

According to court documents, Lindsay J. Osborne, on August 31, was at the Marathon gas station at Hagerhill where Kentucky State Trooper Mark Spencer observed that she was swaying and having a hard time maintaining balance while pumping gas into her vehicle, according to the citation. He initiated a traffic stop and noted that she had droopy eyelids, slowed reflexes and was delayed in answering questions.  He questioned Osborne on if she had taken anything and she answered that she had taken “a suboxone and a valium this morning.”

Osborne was placed under arrest and transported to Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center where she submitted to a blood test.  Once at the jail she was searched where corrections officers found a pink pouch concealed in her bra area that contained a small quantity of a crystal-like white substance believed to be Methamphetamine, a half of an orange pill and a straw suspected to be used for snorting narcotics.

Osborne was charged with DUI, first degree promoting contraband, first degree possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine), second degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of a prescription drug not in a proper container.
