SUSPECT’S DRUG CHARGES INCLUDE TRAFFICKING WITHIN 1,000 FEET OF AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
A Johnson County, Kentucky man who was wanted on several warrants, was arrested over the weekend on charges of selling drugs within 1,000 feet of an elementary school while at a Louisa motel.
According to the arrest report, at just before 11:00 P.M., on late Saturday night, February 18; Louisa police patrolman officer Teddy B. Newsome, along with a Lawrence County deputy, went to a room at the Budget Inn in Louisa, looking for Dale E. Bowen, 46, of Leander, KY., who was wanted on four active warrants. The officers knocked on the motel room door and Dale Bowen answered the door and was immediately placed under arrest.
Inside the motel room, the officers found 10 grams of meth, along with cash, paraphernalia and trafficking materials. The police report noted that the motel is situated 664 feet from Louisa East Elementary School.
In addition to the other four warrants, two of which were each for
*FAILURE TO APPEAR; with the other two were for
*CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER; Dale Bowen now faces five new charges, of which are the following:
*TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE),
*POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA,
*TRAFFICKING CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE WITHIN 1,000 FEET OF SCHOOL,
*DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS,
*PRESCRIPTION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE NOT PROPER CONTAINER 1ST OFFENSE.
Dale Bowen was transported to and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, KY., where he is currently being held on no bond allowed.
I think it’s time to shut that motel down. Between the drug dealing and the pedophiles that’s what’s keeping the motel and town running.
If we’re going to start shutting businesses down, let’s start with KFC. Free food=drugs!
You’re crazy! So you think it’s ok to have a hotel in the middle of town that is notorious for drug traffic & human trafficking that’s been going on for years. Our kids can’t even walk in town without worrying about the crackheads coming and going from that place. And before you say why are they walking in town, kids should be able to walk with their friends & not have to worry about that! Mine don’t get to cause of that reason. I know drugs are everywhere but come on that’s not a motel that’s a motel that houses drugs and pedophiles that may prey on your children
