SEE YA IN 2034: GARY D. WARICK, 58, OF HAGERHILL, KENTUCKY; WAS SENTENCED ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, TO TEN (10) YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON AFTER BEING CONVICTED FOR TRAFFICKING METHAMPHETAMINE.

LONDON, Ky. – A Johnson County, Kentucky man, was sentenced this week to a decade in federal prison after being convicted in a trial

Gary D. Warick, 58, of Hagerhill, KY., was sentenced to 120 months (which is ten [10] years) in prison on Tuesday, November 12, by U.S. District Judge Robert Wier, following convictions for conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, distribution of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, distribution of methamphetamine, and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

According to evidence presented at his trial, on April 26, 2022 and again on May 3, 2022, law enforcement in Johnson County made two controlled purchases of methamphetamine involving Gary Warick. Thereafter, on May 4, 2022, execution of a search warrant on Gary Warick’s residence uncovered additional methamphetamine. Collectively, the purchases and search resulted in the seizure of more than 130 grams of methamphetamine.

Gary Warick had also previously been convicted of felony trafficking in a controlled substance, in 2010.
Under federal law, Gary Warick must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence. Upon his release from prison, Gary Warick will be under the supervision of the U.S. Probation Office for eight years.

Gary Warwick is currently lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center in London, KY., where he has been since August 8, 2023; and is now awaiting to be designated to which federal prison he will serve time in by the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.

Carlton S. Shier, IV, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky; Michael E. Stansbury, Special Agent in Charge, FBI, Louisville Field Division; and Col. Phillip J. Burnett, Jr., Commissioner of the Kentucky State Police, announced the sentencing.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI and KSP. Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Blankenship is prosecuting the case on behalf of the United States.
