Johnny Ray “Box Head” Stapleton, 60, of Nats Creek went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 29, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Johnny was born Oct. 3, 1957 at Louisa, KY, the son of the late Clarence and Nora Jean Terry Stapleton. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his first wife Teresa Arms Stapleton.

Johnny was a disabled coal miner and member of the Richardson Chapel Church.

Survivors include his loving wife Joyce Stapleton; two daughters Stephanie Rena Wheeler and husband Chris, and Teresa May Brooks; two sons Johnny Ray Stapleton Jr. and wife Samantha and Clyde Lee Marcus Stapleton and wife Brittany; three brothers Clarence (Angela) Stapleton, Terry Michael Stapleton, and William Samuel Stapleton; six sisters Bonnie Meade and her late husband Richard, Alice Stapleton, Mary (Frankie) Howell, Julie (Ron Gilmore) Stapleton, Brenda (Victor) Seidlertz, and Nora Dove (Frank) Truitt; eight grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday Sept. 1st at 11:00 am at the Richardson Chapel Church with Dr. Charles Price and Rev. Tommy Meade officiating. Burial will follow in the Stapleton Cemetery on Nats Creek.

Friends may visit the family after 3:00 pm on Friday at the church.

Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
