John Luther Young

1964 – 2016

John Luther Young, 51, of Webbville passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington.

John was born in Louisa on May 21, 1964 to the late Luther Young who passed away in 2001 and Jeanette Perkins-Young of Webbville.

He worked as a logger by trade for many years.

Besides his father he was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister at birth.

John leaves behind a loving family including his mother Jeanette Perkins-Young, one son Jonathan (Whitley) Young; two daughters Tori Young and Kassie (TJ) Barber all of Grayson; five brothers Donald (Peggy) Young, Dewey (Melissa) Young and Ronald (Marie) Young all of Louisa, David (Phyllis) Young of Garrison and Clyde (Tina) Young of Webbville; four sisters Helen Annette Church and Dorothy (Donald) Osborne both of Webbville, Betty Sue (Lee) Harkness of Proctorville, TN and Judy (Danny) Bush of Louisa; two grandchildren Taylor Gray of Ohio and Mackenzie Young of Grayson; a very special aunt and cousin Pearl and Loretta who loved him dearly as well as many friends and extended family members all of whom will cherish his memory.

Funeral Services will be held at the Young Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Ralph Hogston officiating. Burial will follow at the Young Cemetery at Webbville.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Young Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 6-9 pm.
