Jeanie Owens, age 64, of Louisa, KY passed away January 24, 2022.

She was born August 20, 1957 in Louisa, KY to the late Homer Owens and Delta Slone Owens. Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents; two sister in laws Elizabeth Owens and Glenna Owens; and niece Angel Owens Williamson.

Survivors include her son Shilo Owens and her grandson Emerson Dillon – the light of her life. Jeanie leaves behind a brother Charles Owens of Prestonsburg, KY and a sister Linna Owens of Louisa, KY; 2 nephews David Bishop of Charleston, WV and Donald (Toni) Bishop of Lansing, KS; great nephew Sean Bishop of Catlettsburg, KY; 3 great nieces Olivia Bishop of Lansing, KS, Emily Williamson of Prestonsburg, KY, and Hevin Spears of Pikeville, KY. Jeanie also leaves behind a sister by love Freddie Daniels and her beloved beagle Ruger.

Jeanie taught first and second grade at Fort Gay Elementary School for 34 years. She belonged to the Fort Gay Fire Department and was a leader in the Boy Scouts. Jeanie was also a member of the Louisa First United Methodist Church.

A Celebration of Life will be Friday, January 28, 2022 at 5:00 PM at the Louisa First United Methodist Church.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Ms. Owens and her family.
