James Sherman Griffith, 55, of Columbus, OH passed away unexpectedly on March 31, 2021.
He was born in Columbus, OH on August 28, 1965 to Paul Wayne Griffith Sr. and Sillar Marie (McGinnis) Buffington, who both preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was a brother Paul Wayne Griffith Jr., brother-in-law John Carrabine, grandparents Alifair (Eli) Crum, James Isaac McGinnis and Sherman & Viola (Boggs) Griffith. Two nephews Gregory and Owen Dobbins.
He is survived by his wife Tina (Fraley) Griffith; three sons, James Nicholas Griffith, Tyler Griffith and Ricky Teague; one Grandson Xander Griffith; brother Bobby (Robin) Griffith; sisters Belva Carrabine and Ann (Jason) Henry; father-in-law and mother-in-law Roger and Bonnie Fraley; brother-in-law Dale Fraley; sister-in-law Roni Brooks; four nephews Brandon Griffith, Robert (Bobby) Griffith, Paul W. Griffith III and Shawn Griffith; nine nieces Adena Caldwell, Alena Davis, Brooke Jenkins, Bethany Squires, Ashley Dobbins, Melissa Griffith, Catharine Michelle Griffith, Chelsea Coup and Leanna Henry and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, including one special lifelong friend Howie Click. In addition, he has six special Godchildren, Kassie, Mikey, Jolissa, Elijah, Wyatt and Blake.
He was an avid diehard Ohio State fan and loved his Washington Redskins. He is a well-known staple in the South End and E. Gates St. He will be missed by all who knew him. ALL LOVE – LOVE ALL!
Visitation will be Sunday April 4, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be on Monday April 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert “Bobby” Griffith officiating. Interment immediately following the service at the McGinnis Family Cemetery in Louisa, Kentucky.
