James “Jim” Metz 

1938 — 2017

 

James “Jim” Metz, 79,  of Louisa, KY passed away Sunday Dec. 17, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born Sept. 18, 1938 at Brohard, WV, the son of the late Clay and Lena Roberts Metz.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by siblings Vonda Helen Palmer, Doil Metz, Donald Metz, and Dennis Metz, and a great grandchild Jaron.

Jim retired from Exxon Chemical and loved to fish, hunt, and go to car races. He loved old time gospel music and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Patricia Goodnight Metz; two daughters Teresa (Bill) Morehead also of Louisa and Melissa Metz of Wyoming; two brothers Lewis Metz of Parkersburg, WV and Delbert Metz of Maryland; six grandchildren William Morehead, Christina Kelley, Heather Nix, Sheila Young, Kaila Defrates, and Anjalena Reed; nine great grandchildren Payton, Alexis, Malakie, Shelby, Olivia, Riley, Zaden, Maci, and Raelyn.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Wilson officiating. Military honors will be presented by members of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 11:00 am until time of services at the funeral home.

Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
