J. Stephen Self 

1955 — 2018

 

J. Stephen Self 62 of Fayetteville, NC passed away Sunday April 8, 2018 following a sudden illness.

Stephen was born Oct. 10, 1955 at Columbus, Ohio, the son of Samuel and Lorene Moore Self. He was a retired United States Army Green Beret, serving with the Special Operation Division.

Survivors include his loving wife Margie Self, his parents Sam and Lorene Self of Louisa; two daughters Lauren Self of Charlotte, NC and Madelyn Self of Fayetteville, NC; two step children Angela and Adam Jay; four step grandchildren; a sister Debbie Gutrie; and nephews Sam and Caleb Saner.

Funeral services with full military honors will be held on Friday April 13, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Price and Rev. Ronnie Childers officiating. Burial will follow in the Self Cemetery at Mattie Road Louisa, KY.

Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home.

Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
